Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Tanker Inspector to ensure tankers, cargo tanks, and related equipment meet all regulatory, safety, and structural integrity standards. This role plays a critical part in preventing failures, maintaining compliance, and protecting both personnel and the environment.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, inspection experience, and a deep understanding of safety regulations and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform visual and mechanical inspections of tanker units, cargo tanks, or storage tanks
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Inspect welds, valves, piping, structural components, and safety systems
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Conduct or assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and thickness testing
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Verify compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and industry standards
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Identify defects, corrosion, cracks, or structural concerns
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Document findings in detailed inspection reports
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Recommend repairs, maintenance, or removal from service when necessary
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Work closely with maintenance teams and management on corrective actions
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain inspection tools, gauges, and testing equipment
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols
Qualifications
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience in mechanical inspection, heavy equipment, tankers, or industrial equipment
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong knowledge of safety and compliance standards
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to read technical drawings and inspection criteria
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Comfortable working in shop and outdoor environments
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Basic computer skills for reporting
Preferred Certifications (not always required but HUGE plus)
Depending on the type of tanks:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 CTMV (Certified Cargo Tank Inspector)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 API 510, 653, or 570
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 NDT experience (UT, MT, PT, VT)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Welding inspection background (CWI)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 DOT cargo tank inspection experience
