Automotive Controller – Alpharetta, GA

Our client, a well-established, high-volume dealership group in Alpharetta, is seeking an experienced Automotive Controller to lead its accounting operations. WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and contracts in transit

- Prepare and close accurate monthly financial statements and manufacturer reports on deadline

- Reconcile schedules and general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving variances

- Manage floor plan, inventory, and parts/service accounting

- Supervise, train, and develop the office staff

- Partner with the GM and department managers on budgeting, forecasting, and expense control

- Ensure compliance with internal controls, OEM requirements, and state and federal regulations

- Coordinate with outside CPAs on audits, tax filings, and year-end close

WHAT YOU BRING

- 3+ years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller at a franchised automotive dealership

- Deep knowledge of dealership accounting, including the full monthly close and factory statement

- Proficiency with a major DMS (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar)

- Strong command of Excel and financial reporting

- Proven ability to lead and hold an office team accountable

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; equivalent dealership experience considered

- High integrity, strong organizational skills, and a calm approach under deadline pressure
