JOB SCHEDULE

  • 16 hours per week
  • Saturday & Sunday | 8:00a-5:00p
  • Special events as needed

SUMMARY

This position performs general custodial duties such as floor care, sweeping, dusting, mopping, glass cleaning, restroom cleaning, and all other building care as assigned.  The primary purpose of this position is to maintain assigned areas in the Warford Center at an acceptable level of cleanliness. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, strips, waxes, spray buffs and power washes floors.
  • Vacuums carpet, dusts furniture and walls, and cleans fixtures.
  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
  • Power wash locker rooms and showers.
  • Empties trash containers and disposes of trash.
  • Cleans glass doors, windows, display cases, desk tops and telephones.
  • Replaces light bulbs and cleans fixtures as needed.
  • Performs snow removal at entrances and walkways adjacent to the building.
  • Recognize safety hazards and concerns and take appropriate action to correct.
  • Safely mixes and handles various cleaning chemicals, and is responsible for knowledge of SDS procedures.
  • Assists in inspection of building for acceptable level of safety and cleanliness.
  • Respond to spills/cleanups throughout the Warford Center, as needed and in a timely manner.
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs for meetings, rentals, and other events at the Warford Center.
  • Comply with all City policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Reliable transportation is required. This position must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including, nights, holidays, special events, and during inclement weather. This position is considered weather essential personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES. 

  • Ability to operate or use a maid cart with all types of cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, dust mops, and glass cleaning equipment, buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaning machines, powered sweeper/scrubber, and all other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Ability to operate and repair small to medium equipment and machinery used in performance of duties.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work long hours, split shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays and during inclement weather as required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
