Schedule: This is a full-time, onsite position in Americus, GA, working a dayshift schedule with on-call responsibilities as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a Houseparent Lead, you will lead a team of houseparents while carrying out assigned duties, directions, and program activities that support individuals with disabilities in their home and community environments. You will build supportive, life-enhancing relationships with clients and will maintain a positive and professional image when interacting with family members, advocates, service providers, funding bodies, and the community. You will support individuals in their day-to-day living by providing opportunities for choice, self-advocacy, and participation in matters relating to the home. You will assist with personal care, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, transportation, and other activities of daily living. You will facilitate access to community services and facilities, evaluate clients daily to determine whether physician or nurse referrals may be needed, develop and maintain the home's schedule, provide coverage when staffing gaps exist, and perform other assigned duties that support the success of the program and the people served.

This position is based at Maxwell House, a residential home within Middle Flint Health & Wellness's Developmental Disabilities (DD) Program. The DD Program is dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting independence, personal growth, community inclusion, and a high quality of life in a safe and supportive residential environment.

HOUSEPARENT LEAD QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience, knowledge, and/or training in disability services or a related allied health, welfare, or education field relevant to the Lead Houseparent position
• General awareness of health and safety issues
• Valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver's License
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification
• Computer literacy
• Ability to lead a team of houseparents
• Ability to support individuals with disabilities in their home and community environments
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with clients, families, advocates, service providers, funding bodies, and community members
• Ability to participate in dayshift and on-call responsibilities
