Job Summary
The Tax Assistant will support the finance and tax team in preparing tax documentation, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with tax computations and filings, and ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations. This role is suitable for an entry-level candidate with a background in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or any other relevant field of study.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and organizing tax returns, schedules, reports, and supporting documents.
- Support the preparation and computation of various taxes and statutory deductions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax and financial records.
- Assist in collecting, reviewing, and verifying financial information required for tax purposes.
- Support the timely filing and submission of tax documents to relevant authorities.
- Assist with reconciliations of tax accounts and identify discrepancies for correction.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of tax-related records, receipts, assessments, and correspondence.
- Conduct basic research on applicable tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Assist senior tax officers with tax audits, inspections, and related documentation.
- Respond to routine tax-related inquiries from clients, staff, or relevant stakeholders under supervision.
- Support the finance team with data entry, spreadsheet preparation, and other administrative tasks.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial and tax information.
- Perform other duties related to taxation, accounting, and finance as assigned by the supervisor.
