Software Integration Engineer - Linux/Ansible/Python - 8+ yrs of Experience - TS/SCI w/Poly Clearance


Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Integration Engineer who will be responsible delivering fast, reliable, and secure software deployments across a wide range of high‑performance computing environments. In this position, the Software Integration Engineer is responsible for orchestrating and managing complex configuration changes and software updates across production systems, ensuring every phase of the delivery lifecycle adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance, and performance. Additionally, the Software Integration Engineer serves as the Tier 3 technical escalation lead, collaborating closely with Operations & Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues. This includes conducting in‑depth root cause analysis and developing automated remediation strategies that improve system stability, prevent recurrence, and enhance long‑term operational efficiency.

Salary Range

The projected compensation range is 227K-241K (annualized USD) 


Salary is determined by various factors, includingbut not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination ofeducation, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well ascontract-specific affordability and organizational requirements


Capabilities


LCAT Description: Provides expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment. 


The Level III Software Integration Engineer (SIE) shall possess the following capabilities:

  • Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.

  • Generate documentation for the full software stack.

  • Update software for sustainment support.

  • Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.

  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.

  • Provide software product ownership for HPC tools. 

  • Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.



Requirements


Required Skills


  • Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools

  • Experience with IaC principles and automation tools using Ansible 

  • Experience developing with Python to develop custom Ansible modules

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, containerd, Podman

  • Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment

  • Experience with DevOps/GitOps principles, concepts, and best practices creating release candidates for deployment, maintaining, and troubleshooting pipelines

  • Working knowledge of Git, including branching strategies and tagging

  • Experience developing comprehensive, high-quality technical documentation for new products and modifications such as installation guides, troubleshooting run books, and architectural diagrams



Desired Skills

  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

  • Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies

  • Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox


Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing,
configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
OR
The individual shall have five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience.
OR
An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TT0s, may substitute as one (1) year experience. A Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years experience.
