Description

The Refrigeration Service Team Lead is responsible for leading and supporting a team of refrigeration service technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service for customers. This role provides technical guidance, coordinates daily work activities, promotes teamwork, and ensures compliance with company policies and industry standards while maintaining excellent customer relationships. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support refrigeration service technicians in the field.
  • Assign and coordinate daily service calls and prioritize workloads to meet customer needs.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance on commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable codes.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by providing professional and responsive service.
  • Assist with training and development of technicians, including onboarding and skill enhancement.
  • Review service reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and management to ensure timely completion of service work.
  • Monitor parts usage and communicate material requirements to minimize downtime.
  • Support after-hours and emergency service activities as required.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school education preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial or industrial refrigeration service experience.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving refrigeration systems, controls, and electrical components.
  • EPA Certification required; additional industry certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
