JOB TITLE: Fabricator

DEPARTMENT: Sign Fabrication  

REPORTS TO: General Manager  

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt  

JOB SUMMARY:

The Fabricator will manufacture a variety of signage products or components, including metal, plastic, illuminated, and non-illuminated, using tools and raw materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reads blueprints, schematics, or drawings and utilizes such to fabricate partial or entire signage products according to specification and UL requirements.
• Lays out raw materials.
• Welds steel and aluminum.
• Operates folding machines and other metal sheet equipment (rollers, punches, shears, horizontal bandsaws).
• Installs and wires various types of lighting (incandescent, fluorescent, LED).
• Sands and preps signs prior to painting.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to cut bend, and form sign parts that have combined straight, edged, and irregular curves.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 80 pounds. 
• Basic abilities in mathematics and reading.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work an 8-hour shift, regularly stand, walk, lift, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to use basic tools (drills, grinder, sander, etc.)
• Knowledge of UL requirements.
