FTS has an opportunity for an Engineer – Space Based Communications in Arlington, VA.

The Engineer – Space Based Communications will provide critical technical and programmatic support to space-based communications and test planning and execution.

Responsibilities

Serve as the test lead for major program objectives, including running test readiness reviews and working with contractors to review and act on data from test events
Provide overarching support to the program by attending regular calls, major reviews, and partner meetings, as well as drafting presentations and memorandums
~10% CONUS travel

Required Skills/Qualifications

TS/SCI
BS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline
5+ years of relevant experience
Experience working with transition partners such as the Air Force, NASA, Space Force, NRO, and SSC
Working knowledge of space-based communications architectures, including ground entry points, radios, and the integration of hardware and software
Experience in space-based test planning and execution, including the definition of test objectives and measures of performance
Experience leading test working groups for fully integrated space systems with multiple payloads and diverse government, industry, and lab partners
Ability to lead Mission Integration Working Groups twice a year across 15-20 unique organizations, including defining security baselines, coordinating agendas, and reviewing test plans
