Protect what matters.   Chesapeake Fire Protection is looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Design Manager to lead our design department and ensure high-quality, code-compliant, constructible fire sprinkler and suppression system designs. This is a leadership role for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for developing people and improving processes.   What You’ll Do Lead, manage, and mentor a team of fire sprinkler designers. Oversee designs for commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects. Ensure designs meet NFPA standards, local codes, and project specifications. Review and approve drawings, hydraulic calculations, and submittals. Coordinate design needs with Project Managers and field teams. Develop and maintain department standards, templates, and workflows. Support permitting and respond to AHJ questions. Assist with resource allocation, project planning, and departmental budgeting. Lead design reviews, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts. Participate in client meetings and represent the Design Department across the company. Perform other duties as assigned.   ⭐ What You Bring High school diploma; technical training or degree preferred. 8+ years of fire sprinkler design experience. 3+ years of design management or supervisory experience. NICET Level III or IV in Fire Protection Engineering preferred. Extensive knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, hydraulics, and NFPA standards. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and fire protection design software. Microsoft Office proficiency. SprinkCAD, AutoCAD, or HydroCAD experience preferred.   The Job Primarily computer-based design and management work. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Regular use of hands for handling and computer work.
