Position Title: Quarry Operator I
Department: Quarry Operations
Location: Athens, AL
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in the extraction and processing of materials from the quarry.
- Operate basic quarry equipment such as loaders, drills, and crushers under supervision.
- Help with the maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
- Assist in loading materials into trucks for transport.
- Perform tasks related to site safety, including ensuring that safety protocols are followed.
- Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
- Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Previous experience in construction, mining, or heavy equipment operation (optional but beneficial).
- Knowledge of OSHA & MSHA Standards
- Dependable transportation
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
- Work weekends and overtime as needed
- Committed to attending work each day
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
