The University Advisement Center is seeking to recruit multiple聽Academic Advisor I聽positions to conduct individual and group student academic advisement, to assist departments/units with verbal or written academic plans, and to interpret and implement university policies and procedures in the areas of student enrollment and evaluation. We are searching for staff who can find ways to continue to improve some of the fastest-growing graduation rates in the nation. 聽A successful candidate for this position must be dedicated to encouraging student success with high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Advises prospective and current students about academic requirements and selection of courses using advising systems and technologies. Disseminates information on university policies and procedures to faculty, parents, students, etc.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintains students' files that are updated throughout their academic careers and makes changes to records as necessary.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Analyzes and processes requests for readmission from academic exclusion and financial aid reinstatements; provides retention services for students who are part of the Academic Improvement Program.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 May assist in conducting orientation sessions for groups of incoming students.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Audits student records for curriculum, major, and graduation requirements.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Evaluates and determines transfer credits; research course descriptions to determine transferability.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Compares transcripts with entrance and graduation requirements and advises students on appropriate actions.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Refers students with academic discrepancies to proper officials for further action.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assists in the preparation of special reports relating to enrollment and related matters.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Evaluates and maintains student records for degree requirements using an academic evaluation system. Monitors student registration activities and academic performance/progress.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinates communications to students regarding course scheduling, core and major requirements, academic resources, etc.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Determines award recipients based on academic performance. Reviews course adjustment forms and petitions for readmission of students. Processes applications for state certifications, etc.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitors and tracks the retention, progression, and graduation of all students within the assigned population.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performs other related duties as assigned.

We will hire multiple advisors from this announcement for the Atlanta Downtown, Dunwoody and Online campus (which is housed on the Clarkston campus).
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree ; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:聽
Preference may be given to those with a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with student retention or student affairs programs.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience presenting to groups or with group facilitation
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience following up on problems until resolution.
