Director of Cloud Architecture

Who are we, and what do we do?

Edible Brands® was launched in 2022 to bring together powerful, purpose-led brands under one unified purpose: to enrich everyday life through celebration, nourishment, and wellness. Today, Edible Brands powers three bold and growing concepts across 700+ locations worldwide.

Our portfolio spans Edible Arrangements®, the iconic gifting brand; Rōti®, a Mediterranean-inspired fast-casual restaurant; edibles.com™, a trusted marketplace for low-dosage THC & CBD wellness products; and BerryDirect®, our robust supply chain infrastructure. Together, these brands are fueled by The Edible Way—a set of employee-driven values that keep us committed, collaborative, adaptable, results-driven, and always ready to celebrate.

The Big Picture:

The Director of Cloud Architecture is the technical authority for Edible Brands’ cloud hosting and corporate IT infrastructure.

We are looking for a highly technical, hands-on Director of Cloud Architecture to own our Azure environment, its cost and performance, and the quality of our IT operations. They will also provide architectural guidance across the technology stacks that run Edible Arrangements, Roti, Berry Direct, and Edibles.com.

This leader is directly responsible for designing and overseeing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring it follows best practices, and supporting high-traffic digital experiences and mission-critical services. A major priority is Azure cost optimization: restructuring how we store and host data so we run efficiently at scale. You will also act as the architectural advisor to brand, product, and engineering leaders, making recommendations and ensuring designs are sound.

This role reports to the VP of AI, Data Analytics & IT, oversees a 4-person internal cloud/IT infrastructure team and our managed IT services partner (ProArch), and partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Data. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable whiteboarding architecture, supporting production operations, and holding third-party vendors accountable.

Location: This position will be onsite at our Corporate Office in Sandy Springs, GA Monday – Friday.

What this looks like day to day:

  • Own the Azure architecture, hosting footprint, and budget. Lead a structured effort to significantly reduce spend through data architecture and storage redesign, right-sizing, scaling strategies, and governance.
  • Give ProArch clear direction and priorities. Serve as primary point of contact and accountable owner for SLAs, support cases, licensing (Microsoft 365, Azure), consumption, and renewals.
  • Ensure monitoring, patching, backups, change management, and incident and problem management are performed to standard, whether delivered by your team or by ProArch. Serve as initial escalation point for incidents and outages, leading root-cause analysis and fixes.
  • Design and validate infrastructure for peak-season scale (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, holidays) with proven performance and resilience.
  • Define and meet SLAs for availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, performance, and support across corporate and brand systems.
  • Security partnership: Partner with Cybersecurity on security by design, vulnerability management, threat detection, and remediation of findings.
  • Manage infrastructure and architecture debt deliberately, with a visible backlog and remediation plan.
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing infrastructure team, fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Run a lightweight, fast, consistently applied architecture review process across brands and platforms, evaluating integration and workflow design (e.g., our Celigo iPaaS workflows, Shopify and other third-party integrations) and confirming each component sits in the right place in the stack.
  • Make clear, well-reasoned recommendations to brand leaders and Digital Transformation so technology investments are efficient and support business strategy.
  • Translate strategy into architecture options, investment cases, and sequenced plans.
  • Partner with brand leaders and product teams to align roadmaps and remove technical barriers to growth.

What you bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform engineering
  • Experience owning both corporate IT infrastructure and customer-facing digital platforms
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure (this is a must-have)
  • Experience implementing the Microsoft Wel Architected Framework across large scale transformation and modernization initiatives
  • Experience managing high-traffic, customer-facing platforms (e-commerce preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers
  • Demonstrated ability to own and resolve production incidents
  • Strong understanding of scalability, resiliency, and distributed systems
  • Strong experience supportingNode.js / API-driven architectures

How you work:

  • Strategic Agility & Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-changing environment, quickly adjusts to shifting business and technology needs, and leads infrastructure transformation with vision and flexibility.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Builds strong cross-functional relationships, fosters open communication, and leads to a partnership mindset across departments and external vendors.
  • Strong Work Ethic & Accountability: Takes full ownership of results, drives operational excellence, and consistently goes the extra mile to ensure systems are secure, stable, and high performing.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Prioritizes user experience in every decision, ensuring infrastructure and services enable seamless internal operations and exceptional external customer interactions
  • Team Empowerment & People Development: Invests in growing, mentoring, and celebrating team members to build a high performing, engaged, and collaborative organization.
  • Calm Under Pressure & Crisis Management: Maintains composure and sound judgment during high-stakes situations, effectively leading teams through outages, incidents, or urgent challenges
