What You'll Do

You will manage strategic spend categories and preferred supplier relationships by developing business plans and executing sourcing projects. Responsibilities include analyzing spend data to identify savings opportunities, negotiating contracts, and maintaining effective sourcing programs across the organization. This role requires travel averaging 12 percent or less.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement business plans for strategic spend categories to support growth and cost optimization.
  • Analyze current spend categories to identify and execute cost reduction opportunities.
  • Manage and optimize vendor relationships and supply base for assigned categories.
  • Support business units with sourcing program implementation and maintenance for ad hoc needs.
  • Educate and enforce sourcing and procurement processes and policies.
  • Report on sourcing and category management metrics and evaluate vendor performance to establish service level standards.
  • Ensure integrity of material and vendor master data for managed categories.
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

 

What Experience and Education You Need

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of business-related work experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or category management required.
  • Experience in vendor negotiations required.
  • Proficiency in E-Procurement systems such as Ariba or GeP required.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

  • Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others, verbally and/or in writing.
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
  • May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
  • May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
