About the Role


The Server reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate and performs all aspects of service in the dining room, resident lounges and room service for residents, guests, and the public. The Server provides quality customer service to all persons served as relates to the culinary experience at our communities.

 

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  1. Be an engaged collaborative team player, developing and maintaining professional relationships that support and strengthen the organizational culture and purpose.  
  2. Prepares dining room for all services which includes; setting tables, stocking necessary items, assisting the preparation, presentation and serving of food and beverages.
  3. Carries out general cleaning duties in the dining room which includes; clearing and bussing tables, scrapping and at times washing dishes while following the company’s Infection Protection and Control guidelines.
  4. Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to pleasant dining by creating an environment which maintains the happiness, self-respect, general dignity and physical safety of each resident.
  5. Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents and the public.
  6. Responsible for some or all tasks related to housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
  7. Attends and participates in community and education programs.
  8. Responds to resident and building emergencies.
  9. Perform other duties as required


 Qualifications and Skills:



  1. Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  2. 1-2 year’s experience in a dining room environment an asset.
  3. Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
  4. Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
  5. WHMIS Certificate.
  6. All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
  7. Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  8. Ability to operate related food service equipment.
  9. Ability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Must be able to work with cleaners, detergents and other cleaning equipment.
