1. Role Purpose
The Vice President – Opera?ons will be responsible for leading and managing opera?ons across
mul?ple manufacturing plants with approximately 3,000 employees.
The role will focus on achieving produc?on, quality, cost, delivery, safety and produc?vity targets
while ensuring effec?ve coordina?on between all plants and support func?ons.
The posi?on will provide strategic and opera?onal leadership to plant heads and ensure that the
organiza?on achieves sustainable growth and opera?onal excellence.
2. Key Responsibili?es
A. Overall Opera?ons Management
 Lead opera?ons across all manufacturing plants.
 Set opera?onal targets and ensure achievement of produc?on, quality, cost and delivery
objec?ves.
 Review plant performance regularly and take correc?ve ac?ons where required.
 Standardize processes and opera?ng prac?ces across plants.
 Ensure op?mum u?liza?on of manpower, machines, materials and produc?on capacity.
 Improve overall produc?vity and opera?onal efficiency.
B. Produc?on & Capacity Planning
 Ensure produc?on plans are aligned with sales and customer requirements.
 Monitor plant capacity, u?liza?on and produc?on output.
 Iden?fy bo?lenecks and implement solu?ons to improve throughput.
 Improve machine u?liza?on, manpower produc?vity and overall plant efficiency.
 Ensure ?mely execu?on of produc?on schedules.
C. Cost Control
 Monitor material consump?on, wastage, labour cost, energy cost and other opera?ng
expenses.
 Iden?fy opportuni?es for cost savings and produc?vity improvement.
 Establish cost-control measures across all plants.
D. Quality Management
 Ensure consistent product quality across all manufacturing loca?ons.
 Work closely with Quality and R&D teams to reduce rejec?on, rework and customer
complaints.
 Establish strong quality-control systems and accountability at plant level.
 Drive root-cause analysis and correc?ve/preven?ve ac?ons for quality issues.
E. Maintenance & Engineering
 Ensure effec?ve preven?ve and breakdown maintenance systems.
 Improve machine availability and reduce down?me.
 Review major equipment requirements, modifica?ons and capital expenditure.
 Support implementa?on of new technology and automa?on to improve produc?vity.
F. People & Leadership
 Lead and develop Plant Heads, HODs and senior opera?ons teams.
 Manage a workforce of approximately 3,000 employees through an effec?ve organiza?onal
structure.
 Establish clear KPIs and accountability at all levels.
 Develop leadership talent and succession plans for key posi?ons.
 Promote discipline, teamwork and a performance-oriented culture.
 Ensure effec?ve manpower planning and deployment across plants.
G. Safety & Compliance
 Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, labour, safety and environmental
requirements.
 Establish a strong safety culture across all manufacturing loca?ons.
 Monitor workplace safety performance and ensure correc?ve ac?ons are implemented.
 Ensure proper implementa?on of company policies and procedures.
H. Con?nuous Improvement
 Lead con?nuous improvement ini?a?ves across all plants.
 Promote Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma or other appropriate improvement
methodologies.
 Establish produc?vity improvement projects with measurable financial benefits.
5. Authority & Decision-Making
 The posi?on will have appropriate authority to:
 Set and monitor opera?onal targets for plants.
 Allocate manpower and opera?onal resources across plants.
 Recommend and implement produc?vity and cost-improvement ini?a?ves.
 Approve opera?onal changes within delegated authority.
 Recommend capital expenditure and major equipment requirements.
 Take correc?ve ac?on for opera?onal performance issues.
 Recommend changes to organiza?onal structure and manpower requirements.
3. Qualifica?on & Experience
 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Opera?ons, Manufacturing or a related field.
 MBA / PGDM in Opera?ons or Management will be an advantage.
 Typically, 22–25+ years of relevant manufacturing experience, with significant experience in
senior opera?ons leadership.
