National Network Services (NNS) is seeking an experienced Data Cabling Installation Lead to oversee structured cabling projects and lead installation teams in commercial environments. This role is responsible for the successful completion of assigned projects while maintaining NNS standards for safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.Â
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with copper and fiber optic cabling systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects, mentor technicians, and communicate effectively with customers and project stakeholders.Â

General RequirementsÂ
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening if required
- OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

What You’ll DoÂ
Project LeadershipÂ
- Lead and oversee structured cabling installation projects from start to finishÂ
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standardsÂ
- Assign daily work activities and provide direction to installation teamsÂ
- Monitor project progress and adjust resources as needed to meet project goalsÂ
- Maintain clear communication with customers, project managers, supervisors, and team membersÂ
Â
Team DevelopmentÂ
- Mentor and train Level I and Level II Cable InstallersÂ
- Support employee development and technical skill advancementÂ
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and quality workmanshipÂ
Â
Technical ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Install, terminate, splice, test, troubleshoot, and certify copper and fiber optic cabling systemsÂ
- Utilize test equipment to verify system performance and troubleshoot issuesÂ
- Identify and resolve cabling, connectivity, and infrastructure problemsÂ
- Ensure installations comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and local codesÂ

Project Planning & EstimatingÂ
- Conduct site surveys and project walkthroughs for projects up to approximately $50,000Â
- Develop scopes of work, material lists, assumptions, and project estimatesÂ
- Review project requirements and create detailed execution plansÂ
- Develop crew schedules, daily and weekly goals, safety plans, and tool requirementsÂ
- Track labor productivity, project budgets, and schedule performanceÂ
Â
Compliance & StandardsÂ
- Understand and apply industry standards and best practicesÂ
- Identify issues related to plenum vs. PVC cabling, ISP/OSP requirements, grounding, bonding, and lightning protectionÂ
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and customer standardsÂ
Â
What You’ll BringÂ
- 5+ years of structured cabling installation experienceÂ
- Proven experience leading installation crews and managing commercial cabling projectsÂ
- Strong knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systemsÂ
- Experience with fiber termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshootingÂ
- Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and project documentationÂ
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skillsÂ
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and labor resourcesÂ

Technical SkillsÂ
- Fiber optic identification, placement, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshootingÂ
- Copper cabling installation, testing, and certificationÂ
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practicesÂ
- Proficiency with:Â

Preferred QualificationsÂ
- BICSI Technician or Installer CertificationÂ
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 CertificationÂ
