How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Facilitate the safe, efficient execution of complex pediatric cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures in a high-acuity pediatric CVOR environment.
  • Prepare and calibrate specialized pediatric cardiovascular and neurosurgical suites with sterile and non-sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide direct surgical assistance by anticipating surgeon needs, handing instrumentation, and aiding in hemostasis during delicate pediatric operations.
  • Assist in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping pediatric patients while adhering to strict age-specific anatomical and safety protocols.
  • Organize instruments systematically and perform continuous, precise counts of supplies and instruments throughout procedures to uphold patient safety.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
