Job Duties:

 

Contribute to civil engineering projects in support of client needs. Work under the supervision of experienced engineers to provide hands-on experience in design, analysis, and overall project development and execution. Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and special provisions. Support field inspections and contribute to the development of evaluation reports. Collect and analyze data to prepare clear, concise technical reports. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning and execution. Work under direct supervision to create or revise civil design documents and drawings. Perform engineering support tasks, including calculations and analysis, with minimal supervision. Apply relevant industry standards. Gain proficiency in using the document management system and adhere to corporate engineering practices. Participate in site visits and inspection of work to gain hands-on experience in construction and design, and to drive successful completion of the work to the intent of the engineer-of-record. Demonstrate accountability for the quality and accuracy of assigned work. Proactively identify and communicate potential project issues and suggest possible solutions. 

 

Travel up to 25% to worksites in Central Texas and North Texas required. In office with flexibility to work remote up to 2 days per week.

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 5 years of experience as a civil engineer, structural engineer, construction site engineer/assistant project manager, or related position in civil engineering.

 

OR:

 

Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and 3 years of experience as a civil engineer, structural engineer, construction site engineer/assistant project manager, or related position in civil engineering.

 

*Specific skills and other requirements: 

  • Completion of OSHA 10 hour/30-hour Construction Awareness Training.
  • Completion of OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations Training.
  • Must be able to obtain Professional Engineer license from State of Texas within 1 year of employment.

Requires 5 years (with Bachelor’s) or 3 years (with Master’s) with the following:

  • Conceptual development of a construction project related to scheduling/schedule analysis, budgeting/Change Order analysis, and overall project implementation/execution;
  • Reading and interpreting plans, maps, and specifications and recognizing deviations from plans in construction items;
  • Horizontal and vertical construction methods, practices, and materials;
  • Bluebeam;
  • RS Means;
  • Primavera P6/ MS Project;
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Travel up to 25% to worksites in Central Texas and North Texas required. In office with flexibility to work remote up to 2 days per week.
