POSTION SUMMARY:Ā 

Ā 

The Quality Control TechnicianĀ is responsible forĀ performing post-installation quality assessments of 3rd Eye products, including onboard computers, external cameras, monitors, radar systems, and vehicle cabling. This role ensures installation accuracy, functionality, and adherence to company standards by evaluating completed installations and providing detailed feedback to Project Managers and field technicians.Ā

This position also supports continuous improvement byĀ identifyingĀ installation gaps, recommending process enhancements, and occasionally visiting customer sites within the waste and recycling industry to promote andĀ maintainĀ high-quality installation practices across 3rd Eye partners.Ā

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:Ā 

Ā 

  • Post-Installation Quality Assessments — Execute thorough on-site and remote evaluations of 3rd Eye digital installations (onboard computers, external cameras, monitors, radar systems, and vehicle cabling) to verify accuracy, functionality, and adherence to company standards.Ā 

  • Deficiency Reporting & Corrective Action — Document installation gaps and deliver clear, actionable deficiency reports to Project Managers and field technicians to driveĀ timelyĀ resolution.Ā 

  • Process & Audit Documentation — Develop, document, andĀ maintainĀ installation procedures and quality audit standards that improve consistency and accuracy across the 3rd Eye partner network.Ā 

  • Data-Driven Quality Reporting — Compile periodic reports analyzing field data, summarizing performance against quality standards, and surfacing trends to inform process improvements.Ā 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Engagement — Partner with internal teams and visit customer sites within the waste and recycling industry to reinforce installation best practices and represent the brand professionally.Ā 

  • Conduct visual inspections of products and installations at various stages to ensure reliability and compliance.Ā 

  • Provide end-user instructions and guidance for installed products whenĀ required.Ā 

  • Present findings from field start-ups in written and/or verbal formats.Ā 

  • Travel as needed (including occasionalĀ shortĀ noticeĀ travel) to customer sites and industry events.Ā 

  • Represent the organization professionally in all customer-facing interactions.Ā 

  • Attend required training sessionsĀ and workshops and may beĀ requiredĀ to lead sessions and workshops.Ā 

  • PerformĀ additionalĀ duties asĀ assigned to support departmental and organizationalĀ objectives.Ā

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:Ā

  • Associate’s degree, technical certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experienceĀ requiredĀ (will accept 3 years of 3rdĀ Eye installations in lieu of technical certification)Ā 

  • Proven experience with 3rd Eye installationsĀ requiredĀ 

  • Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in automotive systems, commercial electronics, and/or waste and recycling vehicle environmentsĀ 

  • Hands-on experience with 12-volt automotive systems (minimum of two years)Ā 

  • Working knowledge of electronic testing tools, including voltmeters, power probes, and test lightsĀ 

  • Experience with commercial trucks, waste and recycling vehicles, and light-duty passenger vehicles (minimum of two years)Ā 

  • Strong ability to work independently while effectively following direction in a remote environmentĀ 

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic and ā€œcan-doā€ attitudeĀ 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to professionally interact with customers in person and via phoneĀ 

  • ProficiencyĀ in using smartphones and/or Android tablets for reporting and documentation, along with strong overall computer skillsĀ 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsĀ required; Salesforce experience preferredĀ 

  • Ability to quickly develop subject matterĀ expertiseĀ across all company product lines, kits, and accessoriesĀ 

  • Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to documentation and note-takingĀ 

  • Valid driver’s license required, with the ability toĀ maintainĀ insurable and bondable statusĀ
