THE ROLE:  

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Lead SoC Validation Architect to join our growing Systems Design Engineering team. In this highly visible role, you will help drive the quality, reliability, and performance of AMD's next-generation products by advancing validation methodologies, debug capabilities, and automation solutions across the silicon lifecycle.

As a technical leader, you will partner with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex system-level challenges, improve validation efficiency, and accelerate product readiness. Our team fosters technical innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning while enabling engineers to make a significant impact on industry-leading technologies.

  

THE PERSON:  

You are a systems-minded engineer with deep expertise in validation, debug, and software-driven engineering solutions. You thrive in complex technical environments, enjoy solving challenging platform issues, and have a proven ability to influence technical direction across multidisciplinary teams.

Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on validation experience, and the ability to drive scalable automation and debug strategies from concept through production.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiativesĀ 
  • Debugging issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programsĀ 
  • Working with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on timeĀ 
  • Working closely with supporting technical teamsĀ 
  • Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworksĀ 
  • Leading collaborative approach with multiple teamsĀ 

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).Ā 
  • Debug techniques and methodologies   
  • Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.  
  • Extensive experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimizationĀ 
  • Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategyĀ 
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to detailsĀ 
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completionĀ 

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineeringĀ
