Craving an exciting internship? LIGHT IT UP! We’re looking for an Archives Intern who is detail-oriented and has a passion for local history and culture. In this role, you’ll do things like:Â
- Assist the company Historian in cataloguing, preserving, and interpreting historical and archival data and artifacts for ease of retrieval; Assist in gathering requested data or material for the company/family
- Assist the company Historian as required in presenting to visitors the history of the TABASCO® brand, the McIlhenny family and company, and Avery Island in general
- Assist the company Historian in maintaining exhibits in the TABASCO® Museum and the Visitors CenterÂ
- Perform administrative/clerical functions, i.e., proofread/edit various short documents prepared by the Archives
- Complete other duties as assigned
Must-haves to apply:Â
- Currently attending college and pursuing a major or minor in History.
- Be able to work 10-20 hours a weekÂ
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail

- Be a Junior or Senior History major
- Be pursuing a graduate or post baccalaureate degree in History

Pay:Â $15.00/hour
