Overview

The Veterans Admissions Representative will conduct interviews, lead campus tours, participate in orientations, and support campus events tailored to Veterans. Beyond the campus, this role is about building meaningful connections with nearby military bases, Veteran organizations, and career fairs to ensure Veterans are aware of available opportunities. This fast-paced, results-driven role requires independence, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping Veterans achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the local Veteran population on campus by conducting interviews, leading campus tours, participating in orientations, and assisting with Veteran-focused campus events, including Open Houses
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local military bases, Veteran organizations, and Veteran-focused career fairs through consistent networking and on-site engagement
  • Deliver engaging and motivational presentations to prospective students to inspire higher education and career opportunities
  • Address prospective students’ questions and concerns to ensure they clearly understand programs, opportunities, and career pathways
  • Conduct regular follow-up with prospective students throughout the year to maintain interest and support their decision-making process
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of programs, financing options, and related information to confidently answer questions during interviews and presentations
  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance standards, guidelines, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Minimum two (2) years of sales experience (preferred)
  • Public speaking experience (preferred)
  • Military and/or recruiting experience (preferred)

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and sales skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, with a strong customer service attitude

  • Able and willing to:
    • Communicate, think, learn, and reason
    • Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks
    • Safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations
    • Demonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering and category flexibility
  • Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneously
  • Ability to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates essential functions of the position
  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to travel to worksite locations
  • Occasionally (up to 40% of workday):
    • Use fine and large motor skills to operate a motor vehicle
    • Use hearing and sight (both near and far vision) to operate a motor vehicle
  • Lift and maneuver sales presentation materials (up to 50 pounds)

Work Environment 

  • Primarily performed indoors in climate-controlled settings at company locations
  • Hybrid role: combination of on-campus/on-site and remote work (must meet minimum technical standards for participation)
  • May include exposure to student learning environments; must follow all safety precautions including use of PPE and adherence to site-specific safety procedures
  • Overnight and/or local travel required (up to 25%)
