The Enoch Pratt Free Library seeks a Director of Individual Giving & Corporate Relations to lead efforts to grow philanthropic support from individuals and corporations. Reporting to the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, this position will play a central role in strengthening the Library’s annual fund, managing a portfolio of donors, developing corporate partnerships, and advancing key fundraising events and programs.
A top focus of the position will be to build a stronger, more strategic, and sustainable annual fund program through donor acquisition, retention, renewal, and increased giving.

Summary of Duties:
The summary of duties below is not exhaustive. Additional duties are dependent upon the needs of the hiring division.
- Develop and implement the Library’s annual fund strategy, including mailed, online appeals, and targeted solicitations.
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects through meetings, cultivation, solicitations, and stewardship.
- Identify opportunities to increase donor retention, acquisition, and giving to strengthen the pipeline of annual fund donors.
- Develop, cultivate, and steward corporate relationships, including event sponsorships and corporate partnerships supporting the Pratt Library’s programs and initiatives.
- Lead corporate sponsorship efforts for the annual Black & White Party, including renewals, prospect identification, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Serve as the Institutional Advancement liaison to the Pratt Contemporaries and the Pratt Contemporaries Board of Trustees, supporting membership, fundraising, engagement, and events.
- Partner with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, Library leadership, members of the boards, volunteers, and program staff to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities.
- Maintain accurate donor records and portfolio activity in the Library’s fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge) and track progress toward fundraising goals.
- In partnership with the Director of Foundation Relations & Stewardship, develop compelling donor communications and stewardship materials and ensure donors and corporate partners receive meaningful recognition and engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Five years of experience in individual giving, annual giving, corporate relations, development, or nonprofit fundraising.
- Experience cultivating and soliciting individual donors and/or corporate partners.
- Experience developing and executing annual fund appeals, preferably across direct mail and digital channels.
- Experience with relationship-building skills and developing productive relationships with donors, corporate partners, volunteers, and trustees.
- Experience working with a fundraising database and maintaining accurate donor records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with volunteer boards or committees.
- Experience with event fundraising, sponsorships, or corporate partnerships.
- Experience with proactive, collaborative, and entrepreneurial approach to fundraising.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Annual giving, individual fundraising, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Corporate philanthropy, sponsorships, and partnership development.
- Fundraising communications, including direct mail and digital appeals.
- Donor relationship management and fundraising best practices.
- Fundraising databases and donor management systems.
Skills in:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, trustees, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling fundraising messages and proposals.
- Developing compelling fundraising appeals, proposals, and donor communications.
- Cultivating and soliciting individual donors and corporate partners.
- Managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Using data to evaluate fundraising performance and inform strategy.
Ability to:
- Develop and execute strategies to grow annual giving and strengthen donor engagement and retention.
- Manage a portfolio of donors and develop individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Identify and pursue new individual and corporate fundraising opportunities.
- Communicate the Library’s mission and impact in a compelling and persuasive manner.
- Work collaboratively and independently while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
