Job Description 

 

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the Medical Assisting program. This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean/Director of Education. As the leader of the program, the Program Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and Saturday hours.  

 

The Program Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department. 

 

Requirements 

 

  • Completion of a Medical Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; an associate degree is preferred 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a patient-facing, clinical setting
  • Prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years. 
  • Certifications:
    • CCMA and/or
    • RMA and/or
    • CMA  
  • Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
