Job Specific Competencies: 

The Medical Staff Coordinator obtains necessary information to complete appointment and reappointment processes, maintains accurate files credentialing with regard to verification documentation, demographics, committee attendance, National Practitioner Data Bank, malpractice insurance and state medical licensure/certification. In addition, the position supports medical staff committees, as required and maintains medical staff bylaws, rules/regs and policies. 

Responsible Credentials, Medical Executive Meetings & General Medical Staff meetings; Agenda setting, producing minutes, meeting reminder.

Notification for new physicians, changes in privileges, reappointments, resignations and leave of absences to all necessary areas and entering of new/updates data into credentialing software.

Support the Departmental Meetings

Reappointment Process which include queries;

(Quarterly 30 physicians) which include preparing the application /mail /update/following up on missing documents or packages.

Licensure(NJ, CDS, DEA) Verification

 NPDB Verification-Query -website

Claim history-contact insurance company

Verification Education-

 Obtain/Review Peer References

Obtain/ Hospital Affiliations.

Initial Application/New Hired Physicians- Data entry/MD Staff-Web.

Assist-Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) physicians.

Filing, faxing, copying.

Montly On Call Schedule

Support maintenance and update information in the physician database, license, credentialing, contact information.,,







Management Competencies

Responsible for hand hygience compliance of staff.

Consistently participates analysis of Performance Improvement data as well as overseeing follow up of corrective action plans submitted by managers.

Is knowledgeable of and adheres to all hospital policies and procedures including but not limited to: Attendance Management:  Reports to work on time; is flexible when staffing needs warrant change; requests time off in a timely manner; consistently utilizes time clocks to document in and out shifts.  Rules of Conduct: Respects the rights and property of others; does not engage in Harassment or Violence in the Workplace.  HIPPA: Maintans confidentiality of patients, staff and visitors at all times. Dress Code: Complies with dress code policy and wears ID at all times.

Keeps department policies and procedures current within 3 year window and places on intranet per policy.

Completed and met previous years goals.

Is 100% compliant with all mandated training/education of staff (i.e., department orientation, hospital wide, new hire orientation) as required.

Maintains current and valid credentials/license with relevant governing body and/or stays knowledgeable of all changes in federal, state, local and regulatory body laws, rules and regulations.

Is compliant with HIPPA rules and regulations and current patient safety standards.
