Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN III Days – Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit for Texas Health HEB

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022
Work hours: PRN Level III/per diem, Day Shift 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule, 1 major/2 minor holiday requirement
L&D Department highlights:
- Work environment: The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a PRN opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN.
- 9 bed L&D unit and 4 bed OB ED, 3 OR suites unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
- Level III NICU
- Maternal Designation III
- Wide range of patients and plan of care – nitrous oxide, midwifery, and high-risk patients

Here’s What You Need
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS – within 90 days of hire
- NRP – within 90 days of hire
- NRPA - within 90 days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
- 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse required
- 1 year of RN experience in L&D strongly preferred
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
