Job Purpose

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety throughout Hobart High School. You will ensure classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas are cleaned to a professional standard, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms, and communal areas.
Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors.
Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
Clean and sanitise surfaces, touch points, and equipment.
Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies where required.
Follow cleaning schedules and site procedures.
Ensure all cleaning equipment is used and stored safely.
Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damage.
Maintain health and safety standards at all times.
Work independently to complete allocated cleaning tasks efficiently.

Essential Experience Required

Previous cleaning experience.
Experience within schools, commercial buildings, offices, healthcare, or public sector environments is desirable.
Understanding of cleaning procedures and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
Understanding of health and safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

Enhanced DBS (mandatory).
Right to Work in the UK.
Ability to work Monday to Friday afternoon shifts.

Additional Information to Note

Location: Hobart High School, Norwich, NR14 6JU.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday
- 15:30 – 19:30
Enhanced DBS required.
Supplier submission deadline: 16th October 2026.
We work on bi-weekly payment schedule.
