CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA)

INFANTS & TODDLERS PROGRAM

 

 

To provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.

 

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES

INCLUDE

 

These items are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed.  The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is a similar, related, or logical assignment to the position.

        Implements occupational therapy services on an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) after completion of an evaluation and development of IFSP by a licensed occupational therapist.

        Participates in the development and review of Individual Family Service Plans.

        Collects data for progress monitoring of children’s development and family outcomes on IFSP.

        Provides family coaching and support to families of children with IFSPs.

        Collaborates with occupational therapist to conduct authentic assessments to support the development of family outcomes on an IFSP.

        Completes necessary documents to ensure compliance with COMAR and IDEA as well as Medical Assistance.

        Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

 

 

SALARY

 

Starting Salary for a COTA ($30,389).

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

     Successful completion of two-year college degree program for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.

     Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

     Eligibility for licensure in the state of Maryland.

     Experience working with young children.

     Knowledge of technology applications such as Microsoft Word.
