Responsibilities:


1. Shift Operations Management

  • Open and/or close the restaurant according to company procedures
  • Lead daily shift execution and maintain smooth operations
  • Monitor dining room, kitchen, and service flow throughout shift
  • Handle unexpected operational issues quickly and professionally
  • Communicate shift priorities and updates to team members
  • Complete shift forms and supervisor logs

2. Guest Service & Hospitality

  • Deliver and enforce exceptional guest service standards
  • Greet and assist guests when necessary
  • Resolve guest complaints professionally and efficiently
  • Handle refunds, discounts, and service recovery when authorized
  • Support staff during high-volume periods


3. Team Leadership

  • Supervise front-of-house and/or back-of-house employees during shift
  • Delegate tasks and ensure completion
  • Coach employees on performance, service standards, and procedures
  • Hold employees accountable for attendance, breaks, uniforms, and conduct
  • Assist with training new hires

Motivate team members and maintain positive morale

4. Food Safety & Sanitation
Ensure compliance with health department regulations
Enforce food safety procedures and proper handling practices
Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation
Verify proper holding temperatures and sanitation standards
Ensure cleaning checklists are completed
Address safety hazards immediately
Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready environment

5. Cash Handling & POS Responsibilities
Operate and troubleshoot POS systems
Count cash drawers and verify deposits
Ensure accurate cash handling procedures are followed
Approve voids, comps, refunds, and discounts as authoriz

6. Labor & Productivity Control
Improve operational efficiency and ticket times
 Reduce waste and unnecessary product usage
 Ensure employees remain productive during slow periods

7. Inventory & Supplies
Communicate shortages or ordering needs to management
Ensure proper storage and rotation of products (FIFO)
Minimize food waste and operational loss
Track and report damaged or missing inventory

8. Compliance & Policy Enforcement
Enforce company policies and procedures consistently
Ensure break and meal compliance
Monitor dress code and appearance standards
Document incidents, employee issues, or policy violations
Support workplace safety and harassment-free environment standards
