Our client is a collaborative MEP engineering organization delivering building systems for complex projects where technical accuracy and coordinated design are essential. The Mechanical Engineer will join a team that values practical engineering, quality, and strong project execution across a range of building environments. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to HVAC and plumbing design while supporting multidisciplinary project teams from concept through completion.
- Develop mechanical building-system designs and coordinate HVAC and plumbing solutions with architectural, structural, electrical, and other project disciplines.
- Prepare equipment selections, system layouts, engineering calculations, specifications, schedules, and construction documentation for assigned projects.
- Evaluate project requirements, building conditions, and applicable codes to develop practical mechanical solutions that support performance, efficiency, and constructability.
- Participate in field investigations, design reviews, coordination meetings, and construction support activities while resolving technical issues as they arise.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of mechanical deliverables, identify design discrepancies, and support continuous improvement of project documentation and engineering processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive MEP design experience with a primary focus on HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering in California preferred/required based on project responsibilities.
- Advanced experience with Autodesk Revit and Revit-based mechanical coordination and documentation.
- Proficiency with Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, EnergyPro, and Bluebeam for mechanical analysis, energy modeling, and project documentation.
- Strong understanding of applicable Building Codes, mechanical codes, energy requirements, and industry standards.
- Experience developing designs for commercial buildings and coordinating mechanical systems within multidisciplinary MEP environments.
- Strong technical communication, organization, problem-solving, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
