SAP MM with Vertex Consultant
Summary
We are recruiting a senior SAP specialist with 8 to 10 years of comprehensive experience, including at least five years focused on functional Materials Management (MM) operations. This role is essential for executing complex packaging solutions, demanding expert command of the Vertex tax engine and seamless connectivity across critical SAP modules like Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Financial Accounting (FICO). The successful candidate will act as a vital bridge between business stakeholders and technical architects, leveraging deep expertise in system enhancements to define precise requirements. Proficiency in advanced logistics workflows, such as scheduling agreements, subcontracting, quota management, and warehouse dynamics, is required to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance. This position is available across Pan-India.

Responsibilities
- Architect and configure SAP MM modules with a specialized emphasis on packaging and logistics workflows.
- Oversee the full lifecycle implementation of the Vertex tax engine to guarantee precise tax calculations and adherence to compliance standards.
- Orchestrate cross-functional integrations between PP, QM, SD, and FICO to preserve data accuracy and ensure smooth process continuity.
- Spearhead system upgrades and custom development initiatives to address evolving business demands.
- Partner with business owners and solution architects to collect, analyze, and convert requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Execute sophisticated warehouse strategies, encompassing stock allocation, retrieval, internal transfers, handling units, and Logistics Execution (LE) procedures.
- Configure and administer output management processes across various modules to facilitate effective communication.
- Leverage functional exits, custom programs, and database tables to streamline operations and resolve technical obstacles.
- Supervise the generation of serial numbers for Third-Party (3PL) and Fourth-Party (4PL) logistics partners.
- Manage pricing structures and configure printers for Warehouse Management (WM) and barcode operations.
- Lead testing phases using HP ALM and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Support Agile frameworks by utilizing Scrum methodologies and JIRA for task management and tracking.
- Apply RFID knowledge to manage interfaces connecting 3PL, 4PL, APO, and APS systems.
- Administer Standard Transfer Order (STO) workflows, batch management protocols, and release strategies.
Requirements
- Experience: 8-10 years of total SAP experience, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to functional SAP Materials Management (MM).
- Technical Proficiency: Mandatory expertise in the Vertex tax engine.
- Integration Skills: Strong capability in integrating with Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Financial Accounting (FICO).
- Development Background: Proven track record in SAP enhancements, custom developments, and familiarity with functional exits, programs, and tables.
- Logistics Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of scheduling agreements, subcontracting, quota arrangements, stock placement and removal, internal WM movements, handling units, and LE output processes.
- Testing & Tools: Familiarity with HP ALM for testing is preferred; experience with Scrum and JIRA is advantageous.
- Specialized Knowledge: Working understanding of RFID technology, printer configuration for WM/barcodes, and serial number generation for 3PL/4PL providers.
- Process Competence: Proficiency in pricing procedures, interface management (3PL, 4PL, APO, APS), STO processes, batch management, and release strategies.
- Core Domain: Materials Management (MM) is a non-negotiable skill set for this position.
