Veterinary Care Assistant:
1.      Confidentlyhandle and restrain animals as per the ‘fear free clinic’ concept
2.      Provideenrichment, affection and essential care to the pets wherever needed
3.      Providenursing care and comfort to hospitalised patients including health checking,feeding, grooming and walking animals
4.      Monitoringthe activities of pet, gait, water intake, urination & defaecation
5.      Maintainsanitary conditions of the admitted pets
6.      Maintain thecleanliness and hygiene of the cage, the ward & the areas
7.      Follows theinstructions and guidance given by the vet/ senior nurse
8.      Assist theVeterinary nurse when they are giving medications
9.      Provide freshfood and clean water for patients within the guidelines of the treatment planset by the veterinarian
10.  Segregating& maintaining the laundry load as per the SOP set for the area
11.  Organisingthe H.K staff for the general cleaning and deep cleaning of the wards as perthe SOP
12.  Cleaningbedding, such as blankets and mats, as per the SOP set for the items
13.  Cleaning andsanitizing equipment, such as bowls and toys, with a pet-safe sanitizer
14.  Emptyingtrash bins as per the biomedical waste segregation protocol
15.  Wiping downwalls and other surfaces of cages with a pet-safe cleaner
16.  Replenishingsupplies, such as water and food bowls, toys, and bedding
17.  Maintaining& cleaning the tables, machines, equipment, locker, stock andcounters/benchtops etc.
18.  Knowledge inbasic grooming procedures such as bathing, zero trimming, ear cleaning, hygienetrimming, nail cutting, emptying anal sac, ear plucking etc.
19.  Must be ableto observe abnormal behaviours and physical problems in the patients
20.  Assist inemergency situations; assist clients to/from their cars if needed
21.  Accompany thepatient when it is taken for MRI procedure outside the hospital
22.  Label andproperly store the food, toys or other belongings staying with the admitted pet
