Our Organization partnering with an Illinois school district to find a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for the 2026–2027 school year. This on-site position offers a 2–3 day per week schedule and is ideal for an educator who is passionate about accessible instruction, communication development, and individualized student support.

The selected educator will provide targeted instruction and individualized support while helping students develop communication, academic, and independent learning skills. You'll coordinate with classroom educators, related service professionals, administrators, and families to align instructional approaches, address student needs, and contribute to effective educational planning.

This role also involves supporting IEP goals, tracking student development, adapting instruction as needed, and helping maintain a welcoming environment where students can actively participate and progress toward their educational objectives.

Requirements

Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field and maintain an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and instructional skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and contribute to a collaborative school team. Previous experience in a school setting serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred but not required.
