Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
  • Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis
  • Responsible for providing high quality imaging
  • Responsible for the performance of vascular ultrasound studies including doppler and imaging guided endovenous laser ablation
  • Appropriately acquires echo vascular measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
  • Ability to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
  • Ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review
  • Performs appropriate infection control processes
  • Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety
  • Addresses patient informative needs as pertains to requested studies
  • Prepares patients for the study
  • Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
  • Supports team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department
  • Utilizes professional language and action at all times.
