Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
- Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis
- Responsible for providing high quality imaging
- Responsible for the performance of vascular ultrasound studies including doppler and imaging guided endovenous laser ablation
- Appropriately acquires echo vascular measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
- Ability to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
- Ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review
- Performs appropriate infection control processes
- Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety
- Addresses patient informative needs as pertains to requested studies
- Prepares patients for the study
- Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
- Supports team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department
- Utilizes professional language and action at all times.
