Our Billerica, Massachusetts facility designs and manufactures advanced photonics products based on MEMS and other micro-scale optical devices.  The site’s Optical Coherence Tomography products are laser-based imaging tools used in ophthalmology and other medical specialties.

 

Senior Production Planner

The Senior Production Planner is responsible for production planning and scheduling to support on-time delivery, material availability, inventory accuracy, and overall operational performance. This role partners closely with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure production plans are accurate, executable, and aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience;  
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing planning and scheduling;
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP, capacity planning, routings, standards, and order policies;
  • Familiarity with master scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and cost accounting;
  • Experience improving inventory accuracy and cycle counting;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data‑analysis skills;
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365;
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing concepts to improve operational flow;
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and process discipline.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate planning inputs, including sales orders, forecasts, custom orders, and build plans;
  • Develop and manage production schedules that support customer commitments and on-time delivery;
  • Partner with supply chain and production teams to resolve shortages, late shipments, and schedule changes;
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and material requirements to support production plans;
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to minimize shortages, excess, and obsolescence;
  • Maintain planning data, including BOMs, routings, lead times, and capacity parameters;
  • Track production performance, identify risks, and support corrective actions;
  • Analyze capacity constraints and recommend resource adjustments;
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve throughput, cost, and planning accuracy;
  • Monitor material flow and flag production risks;
  • Communicate schedule updates, risks, and key metrics to stakeholders.

 

Compensation: 

  • Pay Range -  $95,000 - $125,000 | Depending on Experience 

Candidates for ITAR-regulated roles must meet U.S. Person requirements
