Operations Specialist – Multi-Site

Location: Travel across assigned portfolio

About the Role

SPM, LLC is looking for an Operations Specialist to support consistency and performance across a portfolio of communities. This role is built for someone who thrives on variety — one week you're auditing files at a Tax Credit property, the next you're helping a new Community Manager get their arms around move-in season. If you know property operations inside and out and want to use that knowledge across multiple sites instead of just one, this is your next step.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to assigned communities to support day-to-day operations, from leasing activity to resident account management
  • Conduct file audits and self-audits to confirm compliance with program requirements (Tax Credit, HUD, Section 8, and Conventional as applicable)
  • Partner with Community Managers and Assistant Managers on training, process consistency, and problem-solving
  • Support NSPIRE readiness and physical inspection preparation
  • Identify operational gaps and help implement corrective action plans
  • Report findings and progress to the RPM and other stakeholders
  • Step in to provide on-site coverage at communities as needed

What You Bring

  • Prior experience in multifamily property management (Community Manager or Assistant Manager background preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Affordable Housing programs (Tax Credit, HUD, Section 8) and/or Conventional operations
  • Comfort with property management software platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — you catch what others miss
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly across the assigned portfolio
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to working with on-site teams

Why SPM

SPM, LLC manages 170+ communities across 12+ states, spanning Conventional, Affordable, and Student Housing portfolios. This role is a chance to build broad, portfolio-level experience and work closely with leadership while staying connected to the on-site work that keeps our communities running well.

SPM, LLC is an EEO employer and drug-free workplace.
