Responsibilities & Duties

To accomplish this job, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. 

  • Prepare and dispense prescription medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.

  • Count pills, measure liquid medications, label containers, and provide instructions for proper medication use.

  • Serve as a liaison between the public and pharmacists, facilitating consultations and providing medication-related recommendations.

  • Assist in managing inventory and maintaining pharmacy records.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies.

  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient questions and concerns effectively.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Degree or certification in pharmacy technology preferred.

  • Must meet the requirements for Alabama Pharmacy Technician registration.

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.

  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing.

  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
