Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Neuro Diagnostic Tech, you will help perform END procedures in the laboratory, at the bedside in critical care units, and in the surgical suites on all ages of patients served by the department.  Performs complex patient examinations requiring extensive computer interaction and/or computation of recorded data, and provides technical description of data.

To be successful in this role, you must be able  to work with infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.  Ability to work independently to perform standard and complex  neurodiagnostic examinations under minimum direction.  Working knowledge of computers preferred.  Good knowledge of general office skills and practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs various neurodiagnostic testing including, but not limited to, electroencephalograms, multimodality evoked potentials, surgical monitoring in patients of varying ages and medical conditions
  • Review, analyze and document patient specific data to determine appropriate recording procedures, methodology and special considerations, if any
  • Introduce patient and family to the testing environment, address questions and concerns and attend to the patient’s comfort and safety during the procedure
  • Prepare patients for procedures in accordance with appropriate protocols, test all equipment and make adjustments as necessary
  • Individually observe and assess the clinical behavior and ongoing study to determine appropriate recording parameters for specific situations as they arise and make adjustments/changes/corrections as required

Job Requirements

Required

  • High school graduate and a graduate of an electro-neurodiagnostic technology program or prior on the job training
  • Current BCLS certification is required

Preferred

  • Experience: 1-3 years experience in all neurodiagnostic modalities
