About the role
As an Information Technology Services (ITS) intern at COUNTRY Financial, you will work as a software developer, data developer, engineer or security analyst in our corporate office located in Bloomington, IL.Interns will work with a project team, intern mentor and information technology management to gain valuable experience, and develop leadership, technical, analytical, communication and teamwork skills through challenging work assignments.
To be eligible for an internship at COUNTRY Financial, you must be pursuing a degree for the duration of the internship and you must be able to work full-time hours from late May to early August 2027. The internship may be extended part-time into the fall semester; depending on the availability of the student, the needs of the company, and strong work performance.

- Gain hands-on experience analyzing SAST, DAST, and dependency scan findings Â
- Support security finding triage and false-positive validation under mentor guidance Â

- Document recurring security issues and AppSec processes Â
- Develop operational runbooks for repeatable security workflows Â

- Design, develops, document, test, implement, and debug new and existing software solutions for large-scale proprietary software for internal use.Â
- Design solutions after gathering business and technical requirements. Â
- Develop software solutions that are high performing and meet technical standards. Â
- Support testing and problem solving/debugging of solutions. Â
- Implement software solutions following best practices.Â

Automation DeveloperÂ
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Assist with development and maintenance of automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Python, and test automation frameworks (Robot framework, selenium, etc.)Â
- Support analysis of business processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.Â
- Create and execute test cases, validate results, and document findings.Â
- Develop technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge articles.Â
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, team meetings, and project planning activities.Â
- Collaborate with business and technology teams on proof-of-concept and innovation initiatives.Â

Data DeveloperÂ
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Deliver and maintain enterprise data solutions as part of the data pipeline, data platform, and data governance teams.Â
- Perform analysis, development, and testing of data ingestion, data curation, and data governance solutions.Â
- Perform API development and integration, and assess infrastructure changes including cloud environments, firewalls, disaster recovery, and security policies.Â
- Analyze complex datasets and create clear, insightful reports and dashboards to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.Â
- Implement advanced logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to support incident response and issue resolution.Â
- Perform root cause analysis using diagnostic tools and replicate issues in isolated environments to ensure effective troubleshooting.Â
RequirementsÂ
- Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information TechnologyÂ
- Expected graduation date of August 2027 or laterÂ
- Foundational data solution development knowledge. Python/Pyspark, Cloud Technologies (Azure, AWS), DevSeOps, Data Visualization (Tableau, Power BI), Foundational knowledge of AI, Understanding of Agile delivery methodology.Â
