The Maintenance Technician supports manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial equipment and facility systems. This hands-on role is responsible for maximizing equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency while supporting preventive maintenance programs, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position works closely with operations, engineering, and safety teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Location: Camden, NJ (On‑site)

Shift:  3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.

  • Opportunities to work 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM schedule based on business needs but regular day-shift assignments are not guaranteed.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, lubrication, and power transmission systems.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, PLCs, VFDs, wiring, I/O modules, and power supplies.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Install and wire new equipment, conduit, and power systems.
  • Inspect, dismantle, repair, reassemble, test, and commission equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Complete work orders, maintain maintenance records, and track replacement parts.
  • Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment and operational issues.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent military/training experience.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, lubrication, and power transmission systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical instructions, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments with prolonged standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive movement.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
  • Experience with overhead cranes, mobile equipment, and welding support systems.
  • Knowledge of motor controls, PLC troubleshooting, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Manufacturing experience in a quality and safety-focused environment.
