Multi Skilled Prevention Officer – 4 Month Contract

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across corporate estate buildings.
  
• Complete repairs across a range of trades including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and general building maintenance.
  
• Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly compliance checks.
  
• Support fire alarm testing, emergency response, and facilities management activities.
  
• Conduct on-site risk assessments and identify health and safety concerns.
  
• Facilitate contractor access and monitor works on site.
  
• Assist with office moves and building support activities.
  
• Use mobile technology to receive, manage, and update work orders.
  
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure compliance standards are met.
  
• Work safely in occupied and unoccupied buildings.
  
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials.
  
• Support emergency and out-of-hours works when required.
  

Essential

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in a core trade such as:
  

• Carpentry
  
• Plumbing
  
• Plastering
  
• Electrical
  
• Building Maintenance
  
• Experience working in building maintenance, repairs, or facilities management.
  
• Multi-trade repair experience.
  
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
  
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  
• Good IT skills, including the use of tablets and mobile technology.
  
• Full UK Driving Licence.
  
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  

Desirable

• CSCS Card or Health & Safety qualification.
  
• Fire Marshal qualification.
  
• First Aid qualification.
  
• Asbestos Awareness training.
  
• Experience working within Local Authority or public sector environments.
  
• Experience of lone working.
