Essential Job Functions
•    Review cancer registry and medical records for accuracy of coding and data quality. Independently complete reports for submission to the Client. Elements to be included in reviews can include:
o    Demographic
o    Staging
o    Tumor Characteristics
o    Text Documentation
o    Treatment information
o    Follow-up information
•    Maintain auditing productivity based on Client and Omega agreed upon requirements
•    Complete Quality Review reports timely and submits to Omega management (subsequently to Clie

Qualifications

Key Success Indicators/Attributes

  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-O-3, STORE Manual, SEER Manual, NAACCR Standards, and AJCC Staging Manual. 

  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and regional data reporting guidelines.

  • Knowledge of coding convention and rules established by the CoC and NAACCR. 

  • Knowledge of CoC coding compliance and impact on accreditation.

  • Knowledge of documentation requirements to support coding.

  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a multifaceted environment.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.

  • Demonstrate ability to self-motivate, set goals, and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrate professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
