MISSION CONTRIBUTION:

To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and stewardship of the GGC through donor and customer relations, processing donated goods, and quality control in order to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.

 

SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader Coach or designee, is responsible for customer service, facility security and maintenance, greeting and assisting donors, breakdown of donations and the maintenance of accurate donor records.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensures and provides open and honest communication that encourages that all team members do not place themselves, donors or customers in harm’s way.
  2. Communicates and supports Goodwill’s drug-free workplace, strives for and maintains a positive work environment following Goodwill’s Core Values and Guiding Principles
  3. Understands represents Goodwill’s zero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, failure to report medical incidents (work or non-work related), and theft or other related offenses
  4. Ensures 100% donor and customer delight.
  5. Greets donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner within 10 seconds; ensures that donor understands that unloads donations from vehicles, offer tax receipts and maintain accurate daily counts of donations.
  6. Responsible for the stewardship of all donated items ensuring that donations remain property of Goodwill, and that donations are not use in a personal nature as they are guided through the Goodwill river.
  7. Breaks-down donations into categories.
  8. Maintains drive-through and work area in a clean and organized manner.
  9. Transports trash to compactor/dumpster and operate compactor as needed.
  10. Ensures proper accuracy of donor tracking and counts.
  11. Ensures proper use and accurately reporting of on-hand equipment.
  12. Adheres to all GGC and personnel policies and procedures; follow good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Team Leader Coach and ATL.
  13. Works in a safe manner, adheres to proper handling of material movement equipment and communicates any safety hazards or concerns.
  14. Responsible for performing assigned duties within the framework of our Guiding Principles:
    1. We are committed to providing world-class customer service to all of our customers.
    2. We are committed to a clean, neat, and organized store.  The image of the store reflects Goodwill, the manager/TLC, and the team.
    3. Donors should be greeted in 10 seconds.
    4. We are committed to a full store with full inventory.
    5. Every time we touch a donation, something good should happen to it.
    6. All donations should be processed within 24 hours.
    7. If you have a pile, you have a problem.
    8. Hard goods should be priority processed.
    9. Material handling equipment is for moving donations, not storage.
    10. Don’t fall in love with your donations… rotation is critical to success.
    11. Donor Value should increase.
    12. Profits should increase.
  15. May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
  16. Attends in-service and related training as assigned by team leader coach.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader Coach and ATL.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Read, write and communicate verbally and perform basic math skills.
  2. Must be able to work independently.
  3. Must have basic computer skills.
  4. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with team leader, team members, customers and donors.
  5. Ability to work within a team situation.
  6. Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  7. Ability to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation 

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
  2. Must have reliable transportation.
  3. This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug testing.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to stand, bend and reach.
  2. Able to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move up to forty (40) pounds with no support regularly. Over forty (40) pounds request for additional team member assistance as needed.
  3. Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion. Manual dexterity is required.

  5. Accuracy of donor counts
  6. Image – personal image, keeps work area/location clean, safe, organized with no donor creep
  7. Work Integrity – follows established procedures and processes donation timely with a sense of urgency
  8. Customer Service (10 second rule internal and external customers, smile, integrity of process and feedback)
  9. Reporting - accurately reports equipment on hand, communicates needs
