Job Summary
The Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of community-based nutrition interventions aimed at improving the nutritional status of vulnerable children, women, and households. The officer will assist with nutrition screening, education, referrals, community mobilisation, data collection, and monitoring of nutrition activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the implementation of nutrition activities in project locations.
• Assist with community-based nutrition screening and identification of individuals requiring further support.
• Support nutrition education and counselling sessions for caregivers and community members.
• Assist with community mobilisation for nutrition services and campaigns.
• Support referrals of identified cases to appropriate health and nutrition service providers.
• Assist in monitoring nutrition-related programme indicators.
• Collect, record, and maintain accurate nutrition programme data.
• Support the distribution of approved nutrition education and information materials.
• Participate in community outreach, training, awareness, and sensitisation activities.
• Support the identification and documentation of nutrition-related challenges and community needs.
• Work with health workers, community volunteers, and other stakeholders to strengthen nutrition interventions.
• Contribute to programme reports, success stories, and lessons learned.
• Ensure that all nutrition activities are conducted in accordance with safeguarding and programme quality standards.
