Job Summary
Various Schedules AvailableBrigham and Womenās Hospital (BWH) operates multiple intensive care units (ICUs) across its campus, each specialized for different patient populations and clinical needs. Some of the key ICU departments include: Medical, Surgical, Thoracic, Cardiac, Neuro, Medical/Surgical, ICU Float Pool.
ICU patients require more frequent monitoring than patients who are on a general medical floor. In addition to basic nursing tasks, ICU nurses need to be strong observers with sharp assessment skills to treat patients effectively.
The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The Registered Nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager, or supervisor.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
Massachusetts Registered Nurse required - 2 years nursing experience required.
- Must have minimum 1 year current Critical Care nursing experience required.
- Certain specialties require specific experience
- ACLS, CCRN Certification preferred
