We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Practice Assistant to join our Neurosurgery Tumor team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. In this dynamic role, you'll play an essential part in coordinating patient care, supporting our physicians, and ensuring smooth and efficient practice operations.

What You'll Do
- Serve as a key point of contact for patients, responding to inquiries, coordinating appointments, and providing timely updates throughout their care.
- Schedule new and established patient visits, diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, and preoperative appointments using Epic.
- Coordinate surgical scheduling, confirm arrangements with patients, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure patients are prepared for upcoming procedures.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, referrals, and prior authorizations while maintaining accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with insurance companies, billing teams, and clinical staff to support timely billing, documentation, and workers' compensation processes.
- Provide administrative support to physicians, including managing calendars, coordinating meetings and travel, processing correspondence, and assisting with expense reimbursements.
- Prepare patient charts, maintain confidential electronic records, and ensure clinical documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Serve as an Epic resource for scheduling, registration, and billing, providing guidance to colleagues as needed. Training is provided!

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of office experience required; experience in healthcare or a customer service-driven environment is welcomed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with standard office procedures and technology.
- Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate complex schedules, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- A patient-first mindset with the ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, providers, and colleagues.
