Position summary


2Life Communities seeks a passionate, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Events Manager to lead and execute a diverse portfolio of high-end donor-focused events. 


This role is critical in translating 2Life’s mission into impactful experiences that strengthen engagement, build key relationships, and elevate the organization’s visibility with donors, policymakers, community leaders, residents, and board members.  The Senior Events Manager will leverage strong leadership and project management skills to ensure all events from research and planning through on-site management and reporting are well-orchestrated, fiscally responsible, and deeply aligned with 2Life's mission. 


Collaborating with stakeholders across 2Life, from invitation creation to post-event analysis, the Senior Events Manager plays a key role in helping 2Life share its story and develop meaningful engagement with donors, policymakers, community leaders, residents, and board members.


We are looking for someone passionate about hosting and running events. They must be detail-oriented and exemplify strong leadership skills. 


Essential job functions


Event Strategy and Program Management

  • Develop and implement 2Life’s annual event calendar in collaboration with the fundraising, marketing, advocacy, and real estate departments to ensure strategic goal alignment.

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of small to midsize (up to ~500 attendees) high-end donor events, including the annual fundraising gala, ground-breakings, ribbon-cuttings, donor gatherings, and tours.

  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of industry best practices to introduce innovative ideas that maximize engagement and participant value.

  • Serve as an internal expert for colleagues, proposing new events, including conducting cost-benefit analyses, defining desired goals, and brainstorming best practices.


Event Execution and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Execute all operational aspects of event planning, including site selection, content and program management, collateral design/printing, audio/visual production, registration, logistics, and post-event evaluation.

  • Oversee vendor management for caterers, event planners, and designers to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across 2Life (including fundraising, marketing, advocacy, real estate, site staff, and executive teams) to ensure consistent brand messaging and coordination across all events.

  • Drive internal communications and stakeholder engagement to ensure broad awareness of upcoming events, volunteer needs, expected outcomes, and event success metrics.


Administration and Reporting

  • Manage the event budget, procurement, and invoice/expense tracking and reconciliation to ensure optimal resource allocation and fiscal responsibility.

  • Track event metrics, attendance, and feedback to evaluate performance and inform future strategy.

  • Maintain accurate event records, including guest lists, sponsorship commitments, and post-event reports, primarily utilizing 2Life’s Salesforce database.


Perform other responsibilities as assigned.


Preparation, knowledge, skills, and abilities


  • 5-7+ years of high-end event management experience, preferably in a nonprofit fundraising environment.

  • Demonstrated experience executing a variety of events across wide-ranging goals, audiences, and stakeholders.

  • Experience with donor databases and event management software (Salesforce and GiveSmart preferred). 

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills. 

  • Proven ability to navigate working relationships across multiple teams with diverse goals.

  • Ability to thrive in a passionate, fast-paced environment, with the confidence to engage at all levels of the organization. 

  • Proven track record in participating in cross-team program management and close attention to detail. 

  • Autonomous and flexible work style, capable of managing moving targets and making independent decisions when necessary in a highly collaborative environment.
