About the Opportunity

The Department of Public Health and Health Sciences is seeking Temporary Part-Time Research Nurses to join a research team conducting studies on risk factors for alcohol misuse in young adults.

Key Responsibilities

Screening Appointments:

Conducting medical history interviews
Performing ECGs and phlebotomy/blood sample collection
Evaluating vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, respirations, height, weight, and BMI
Determining study eligibility

IV Administration Sessions:

Preparing IV lines and pumps
Preparing participants and connecting them to the IV
Monitoring IV pump functioning and assisting with any errors
Attending to participant well-being during and after the infusion process

Study tasks involve IV administration of both ethanol and saline.

Qualifications

Must be a Registered Nurse (RN)
Experience with phlebotomy required
Experience working with IVs required

Schedule & Commitment

Week-to-week per diem hours available for nurses who work full-time elsewhere
Set schedule of up to 20 hours per week available to accommodate parent schedules, semi-retirement, etc.
Position may be renewed beyond 6 months pending availability of grant funds
