As a CNC Machinist, you will operate and maintain computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to produce high‑precision components that support spaceflight hardware. You will ensure efficient machine operation, coordinate with programmers and management to meet production goals, and contribute to a clean, safe, and quality‑driven environment that supports reliable manufacturing outcomes.

Schedule

This position operates on 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CNC machines to manufacture components that meet quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Sets up machines and prepares tooling, cutters, fixtures, and materials to support efficient production.
  • Maintains and follows AS9100 procedures, contributing to continuous improvement activities.
  • Coordinates with programmers to optimize set‑ups and reduce manufacturing time.
  • Prioritizes machine schedules with management to support customer demand.
  • Performs routine machine cleaning and maintenance and ensures fixtures are properly stored.
  • Orders tooling and cutters as needed to support manufacturing operations.
  • Monitors product quality, reporting concerns or recommendations to management.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment and follows required QMS reporting and documentation procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating CNC equipment.
  • Experience with Siemens 840D and Fanuc 31i‑B5 controls.
  • Proficiency interpreting blueprints.
  • Knowledge of machine set‑ups, tooling, and cutters.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal customers.
  • Training in applicable changes and customer requirements.
  • Understanding of basic Quality Management System (QMS) reporting, record keeping, and work instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing, walking, or sitting for at least 8 hours.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs., minimum 35 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other equipment.
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less; corrective lenses may be worn.
  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement.
  • Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands.
  • Occasional overhead, shoulder‑level, and below‑shoulder reaching.
    The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
